About The Event
This talk will cover how the concept of gender is developing in America. As we move from the concept of a binary gender the defined ways of expression to accepting gender are fluid and nonbinary we will have to make changes in policy, child-rearing, and more.
-Isn't gender just "male" and "female?"
-Is the conversation about people being something other than male and female just being over politically correct.
-Many teens these days are identifying as "non-binary" or "gender fluid." What do these terms mean? Is this just a teen phase?
-How can a child know that they are not a "boy" or a "girl?"
-Are teens just trying to "be cool" and "fit in" when they say they are non-binary?
-Why should I use "they" as a singular pronoun? I thought "they" was plural. How can that be a person's pronoun?
-If my child says they are unsure about their gender, what does that mean? What should I do?
-If my child says they are nonbinary, does that mean they are gay?
-If my child says they are nonbinary, does that mean they are transgender (want to change their gender)?
-Will hanging out with nonbinary kids make my kid confused about their gender?
